Samiron Borthakur is a journalist and television news anchor, currently serving as Senior News Anchor-cum-Producer at ND24 Head Office. He began his journalism career with Dainik Janambhumi, Jorhat Edition, and subsequently worked with Time8, Ishan News and Pratidin Time, gaining extensive experience across television news and media.
His professional expertise includes News Anchoring, Programme Anchoring and Special Reporting. He is also associated with “Anweshan”, a television programme that has been an important part of his professional journey.
Over the course of his career, Samiron Borthakur has reported on and engaged with a wide range of political, social, cultural and public-interest issues across Assam.
His commitment to social responsibility has also been recognised through the National Youth Icon Award, which he received in New Delhi from then Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, in recognition of his humanitarian contribution towards supporting a helpless elderly woman.
A former President of the Students’ Union of Kakojan College, Jorhat, Samiron has also remained actively involved in social, cultural and youth-oriented initiatives.
Alongside his professional career in journalism, he currently serves as the Cultural Secretary of Gauhati Press Club (GPC), contributing to the Club’s cultural programmes and initiatives for the media fraternity.
